The History of Redhill
In the new “Buildings of Surrey” for Redhill the town is still basically described as a railway town. The earliest building mentioned is St John’s Church (1842). However Redhill has several much older buildings including the old cottage (1500), the oldest domestic building in the Borough. The talk will look at some of these buildings and explain why they are not in the centre of Redhill. It will also consider the development of Redhill.
